Badi Patan Devi Temple

Badi Patan Devi at Patna is one of the 51 Shakti Pitha in India. It is one of the most pious temple in Patna. Thousands of devotees visit the temple during Navratri, RamNavami and other festivals. It is believed that the right thigh of Devi Sati had fallen here according to the Hindu mythology.

The temple is situated in Maharajganj area of Patna city. It is approximately 6-7 km from Gandhi Maidan. The temple is situated some half a kilometer from the main road when visiting through the Patna City main road.

Besides the main deity of Mata Sati, a number of other deities are also present in the temple. Photography is banned inside the temple.

The temple is surrounded by a number of shops from where one can buy Prasad and other things for offerings in the temple.

A visit to Badi Patan Devi is often accompanied by visit to Chhoti Patan Devi, which is situated nearly a kilometer in the Chowk area. Shitala Mata Temple or Agam Kuan is also situated at a distance of nearly a kilometer. Both are easily reachable.
